OME Tonal Systems

The OME Traditional Tonal system maximizes response, volume and brilliance by combining a 3-ply maple rim with our Silverspun brass and steel tone ring. Available in our standard 11" pot for maximum clarity and response, or the larger 12" style for increased depth, volume and bass. Both are excellent for clawhammer, jazz, and melodic finger-picking playing styles. If extra volume or projection is needed for string band work, the OME Flushfit Resonator is available as an option.

Offered in 4, 5, and 6-string banjo styles with choice of drum heads and our 11" Megatone cast tone ring optional.

The OME Standard Jazz tonal system has consistently proven to be our most popular jazz style and is considered by many professionals to be the most outstanding four-string banjo ever made. Combining our Standard Resonator with our exclusive 11" Silverspun tone-ring and "f-hole" resonator flange, this instrument produces an unusually resonant, full, and balance response throughout the entire playing range. It is available in all 4-string banjo styles.

The bell-shaped, "f-hole" spun resonator flange used on the OME Classic Jazz banjos give them a very striking and unusual appearance. Combined with our 11" Silverspun tone-ring and maple rim, thses banjos produce an exceptionally clear, bright sound, with slightly more emphasis on the treble notes. It has the carrying power to cut through other instruments in a jazz band, with commanding presence of tone and volume. Available in most 4-string banjo styles.

The OME Megavox refines the deep-wall resonator banjo for the needs of modern players. It features a 2 7/8" deep-wall maple resonator, top-mounted "f-hole" flange, and our 11" Silverspun tone ring carefully fit to a 3-ply maple rim. The enlarged air chamber and our top-mounted resonator and flange of this unusual instrument produce a very deep, woody, and resonant tone. The treble is well balanced, the bass is rich and full. Available in most 4-string banjo styles.

At the heart of the OME Megatone is a proven combination of our 3/4" three-ply maple rim, the OME Prewar style flat-top bell-bronze tone-ring, and the OME one-piece zinc alloy "f-hole" resonator flange. This tonal system provides an unusual balance between a brilliant treble, a deep, full base, and a strong midrange. It also emphasizes a rapid tone decay to provide optimum note separation for crisp, clear finger picking playing styles. Perfect for the bluegrass musician.

The optional OME Melodic flat-top tone-ring is two ounces lighter and provides slightly less sustain and more bass. The OME archtop offers more emphasis on treble and gives a crisp and snappy response.
